Veterinary Surgeon

Emma joined Rase Vets in March 2017 as head small animal vet. She graduated from the royal veterinary college in 2012 and since then havs worked in several small animal practices around Lincolnshire. Her main passion is surgery, orthopaedic surgery in particular and is studying towards her certificate in small animal surgery. Outside of work she calls herself a full on history geek with a passion for murder novels, gin and her border collie, Scampi.

Archie graduated from Glasgow University in 1976 and rejoined the practice in 1999.  Archie has spent much of his time at Rase being an enthusiastic farm vet and has been visiting Lincolnshire's livestock for the past quarter of a century. In his spare time Archie is an enthusiastic walker and a big fan of classical music.

Nell joined us at Rase Veterinary centre in 2013 after graduating from veterinary collage in Budapest. Originally from Ireland, horses are in Nell’s blood, her whole family are riders and her father is a well respected Rasehorse trainer. Nell enjoys all aspects of equine work but is particularly interested in anaesthesia and has been overseeing the gastrosopy clinics at our new satellite yard at Professional Equine Services, Kneesall. Outside of work Nell loves travelling and her cat Ralph.

Originally from the west of Scotland, Vicki joined Rase Veterinary Centre soon after qualifying from Glasgow Vet School in 2013. Vicki enjoys all aspects of equine work but is particularly interested in anaesthesia, care of patients with colic and wound management. Outside of work most of Vicki’s time is entertaining her overly energetic Doberman called Zara.

Din was born and brought up in Cambridge. Her parents are from Sri Lanka. She went to Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, University in Edinburgh, Scotland and gained her BVM&S in July 2015. She has an interest in small animal, farm animal and equine practice and is thoroughly enjoying being out on Equizones and meeting the Rase Equine clients. Her aims are to learn more about equine anaesthesia and become a well rounded vet.

Serena joined Rase vets in 2009 as a kennel assistant. She then trained as a veterinary nurse and is now a clinical coach to the students nurses. Serena enjoys all aspects of her job, and has a particular interest in diagnostic imaging, medicine, cat behaviour and exotics. Serena is an incredibly popular member of the team who is known to go above and beyond on a regular basis. In her spare time she plays many musical instruments and enjoys the company of her dog Bruno and her 2 cats Phil and Wesley.

Vicky qualified in 2008 and has been working at Rase since Sept 2010. Her main interests are anaesthesia and radiography and in 2011 was nominated for vet nurse of the year!! Outside of work she is kept busy entertaining her little boy Harry as well as gardening, baking and as a farmers wife Vicky is often roped in to helping with their many lambs! Her goals are to become a clinical coach and gradually increase her hours as Harry gets older. She loves helping the student nurses and is always a bubbly and chatty member of the team.

Lindsay qualified in 2011 in a small animal practice in West Yorkshire joining Rase Vets in 2014. She enjoys all aspects of nursing but particularly enjoys surgery (especially orthopaedic) and has a keen interest in complimentary therapy such as physiotherapy and acupuncture. Lindsay has 2 dogs a husky called Anya and a little terrier cross called Theo. Outside of the practice Lindsay enjoys walking through the countryside with her dogs.

Louise joined the practice in April 2015 after previously working with horses. As a trainee nurse her main aim is to qualify and progress onto further qualifications. She has a particular interest in farm work and doesn't mind getting stuck in with equine as well as routine small animal stuff. Outside of work Louise enjoys horse riding and walking her two dogs Milo and Mitch. Having recently returned from South Africa Louise got the opportunity to witness veterinary examinations on larger animals such as rhinos and giraffes.

Emily knew she wanted to work with animals from a very young age. She has been lucky enough to work in a variety of animal sanctuaries and zoos; being a keeper for lions, tigers, small primates and wolves. However, her true love lies with companion pets and once qualified hope to expand her knowledge of exotics. At home she has a very cheeky house rabbit called Roo who definitely rules the roost. Outside of work she enjoys the great outdoors and catching up with friends and family over a movie and a takeaway.

Anyah grew up on a small farm consisting of hens, ducks, geese and over 25 rabbits. She has always known her passion lies with animals but it was completing Animal care at Riseholme College that initially introduced her to veterinary nursing and knew from then on there was nothing else she wanted to do. In 2014 she joined Rase Veterinary Centre as a kennel assistant and said she couldn’t have been happier! She has loved learning new skills including assisting in the laboratory. At home she has two mischievous dogs called Ruby a Jack Russel and Eli a Labrador who she loves taking for walks in the beautiful Lincolnshire wolds.

Hayley started working at Rase in March 2016 and is a fully qualified Animal Medicines Advisor. Hayley works on reception at the Market Rasen surgery and has a real passion for all animals. Hayley is hoping to start her nurse training in September and become a qualified nurse. Outside of work she enjoys showing horses and makes equine fancy dress costumes. Hayley has 4 children, 4 ponies, 3 Labradors and 3 Lincoln Longwool sheep.

Sean Ward joined Rase Veterinary Centre in 2014 after working in a referral hospital in West Yorkshire. After qualifying as a small animal nurse he studied further to gain a further qualification in equine nursing. Sean now works nights and enjoys emergency and critical care nursing. Sean currently has 2 dogs a terrier cross called Theo and a husky called Anya along with a corn snake named Dave. Outside of work sean enjoys hiking and has a keen interest in wildlife photography.

Tyler joined the team at Rase Veterinary Centre in August 2016 having worked as a veterinary nurse for 8 years. His favourite aspect of his work is inpatient care, which is one of his main duties as a night nurse. He has a dog called Molly and a cat which he rescued at 3 weeks of age called ticka. When he’s not working, he enjoys reading, keeping fit, the outdoors, keeping up with his studies, walking his dog, and being with friends and family.

For Ellie growing up on a farm meant there were always animals around from sheep and cows to chickens,cats dogs and horses. Ellie has always been an animal lover from a young age so working in a vets seemed perfect for her. Her favourite part of the job is chatting and getting to know all the clients and giving cuddles to all the animals that visit. At home Ellie has a cat called Sheldon, a black lab called maisey and two horses, Bandit and Belle.

Emily started working at Rase Vets in October 2015. Her favourite part of her job is engaging with the clients and meeting all the animals! She particularly loves cats and horses and can’t resist a sneaky peak in the stables! Emily has a keen interest in horses and sport which led her to Hartpury College where she graduated with a degree in Equine Science in 2013. Her spare time is taken up with her two horses and enjoys Eventing.

Sarah has worked at Rase Veterinary Centre for almost 15 years as a receptionist. She has a real passion for all species of animals and has rescued many! She lives in the quiet village of Habrough with a managerie of pets and loves swimming, cycling and riding her motorbike. She is also a keen open water swimmer having just completed the Great East Swim.

Hannah joined the Rase Vets team two and a half years ago as a receptionist, after moving to Lincolnshire from Essex in 2014. Hannah says that her favourite parts of the job are chatting to our lovely clients about their animals and cuddling puppies and that her husband lives in despair of which unwanted, abandoned animal she will bring home next. So far it's been a rabbit, a cat and a duck to join our ever-expanding flock which includes horses, dogs, a variety of chickens, more ducks and a parrot. Outside of work, she love to spend as much time as possible outdoors with her little boy, riding, walking and taking care of our animals.

Harriette joined Rase Veterinary Centre 6 years ago assisting in Equine and stables. More recently she works on reception at our Grimsby branch. Outside of work Harriette’s life generally consists of horses, horses, and more horses!

Sally Bateson

Sally has a wealth of knowledge in all things equine. She started riding at 2, went through the Pony Club and did B.S.P.S showing. As a junior Sally won a European gold medal, was short listed for the world games, competed nationally to medium level at Dressage and if that wasn't enough has ridden winners and placed horses in point to points and has ridden most 4 star events. Notably she came 18th at Burgley on her horse Honour High with the assistance of her multi talented groom Norrie Chapman nee Graham!

Victoria has worked at Rase since 2010 after arriving in Lincolnshire from her native Norfolk. Victoria has a BA in Marketing and has worked as Marketing Manager for both a Commercial Finance Broker and Law firm before joining Rase. Victoria loves the variety of tasks that her job involves, one day she can be photographing a rasehorse having dynamic scoping on the gallops and then the next day designing brochures and adverts for small animal services. In her spare time Victoria enjoys chasing her small child around and is the Rase Veterinary Centre resident Chihuahua nutter, having three of her own at home.

Brenda joined the team at Rase Veterinary Centre in September 1999. She most enjoys looking after the inpatients and seeing them go home happy and healthy. Outside of work, other than socialising with friends, she is more often than not seeing her grandson, or looking after her animals at home.
